New ASUS PadFone – Android based Smartphone With Full Specifications

Computer product manufacturing giant Asus has launched what it calls a PadPhone – a latest gadget that consists of a pair where an Android Smartphone snaps into the back of an Android tablet. The device can be seen as a convergence between the Smartphone and tablet.

he Smartphone has a 4 inch display and is supposed to run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system whereas the tablet which boasts a 10 inch display that is capable of 1280×800 pixel resolution runs on Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.
The tablet has a special compartment at the back for docking the Smartphone which in turn utilizes the tablet’s larger battery to get charged when docked. Both the devices can use common 3G data connection and make use of the same SIM card for the purpose.
  • The compartment lid of the tablet has a small slot to expose the Smartphone’s camera when it is snapped. The tablet which doesn’t have a camera at its back is dependent on the Smartphone for imaging. However, it has a front facing camera.

The devices sync seamlessly with each other as both use Android OS. To respond to a call, users can either remove the Smartphone from the tablet’s hind or use a Bluetooth handsfree.
